The TOTAL LITERACY (Taking Opportunities to Advance Learning) Central Area Initiative will provide us with an opportunity to support our communities through literacy programs. We will look at how many people we are reaching, our target group who will be impacted by the engagement of our chapters and look toward elevating our integrated, umbrella and collaboration programs.

Our five facets will be in alignment with our National Programs: The Arts, focusing on Media and Digital Literacy; Services to Youth focusing on Mentoring and early elementary schooling; National Trends and Services by increasing knowledge of financial literacy at all ages; International Trends and Services making a global impact outside of the United States; and Health and Human Services with a focus on physical, mental and emotional literacy. This initiative will also serve as a catalyst for our 2025 Central Area Conference.
